A Fighting Flashlight

16 July, 2010 (00:58) | Product Reviews | By: admin

This review is from: Surefire 6PD-BK Defender Black Incandescent Flashlight w/ a Crenullated Strike Bezel

Surefire has got to be the most “hardcore” flashlight on the planet. There top quality is hard to beat, maybe even impossible! The defender is the only “tactical” flashlight I own for the fact that it not only offers blinding illumination, but a strike bezel for self defense. This is the full expression of what a fighting flashlight ought to be. An exceptional alternative for anyone interested a tactical flashlight.
What really should also be noted about this flashlight is that the window is recessed substantially below the bezel to protect it from impact. This feature can be a should for a flashlight developed for self defense.

The only other flashlight I could recommend for defensive purposes would be the SureFire Executive model.

Note:
If your seeking a flashlight for each and every day (general use), this flashlight won’t be the greatest alternative for you as they have a specialized purpose. You might be far better off with a MagLite or a rechargable. Mainly because on the intense output power from the SureFire units, they do not hold a charge with over extended use.

Even Better With A Drop In Mod!Great Torch!

This review is from: Surefire 6PD-BK Defender Black Incandescent Flashlight w/ a Crenullated Strike Bezel

The Surefire 6P Defender goes beyond your average Maglite. It has a top quality create, is water resistant, and is small and light sufficient to carry in your pocket.

The strike bezel on the head from the flashlight is fantastic for added protection, and although it doesn’t appear like a lot, is capable of causing some critical damage!

I love the tactical tail cap switch for convenient momentary or continuous on/off. It does not strain your thumb to hold it down as with some less expensive lights.

The reason for 4 stars is that for the cost, you will find brighter types available with duel modes, like the Fenix TK10 or 11 designs, as well as the Eagletac T10LC2 with its 6o lumen mode and 295 lumen large mode.

But, I would suggest the 6P to anyone who has been in the marketplace for this flashlight. It feels good inside your hand, and you can just really feel the excellent.

A wonderful option to mod this torch would be to buy a Malkoff M60L or M60 led drop in for increased brightness. Note that these drop-ins were made specifically for Surefires and are of excellent excellent.

The M60L is rated at 140 lumen having a constant 4 ½ hour light output (then 2 hours or so helpful light). The M60 is rated at 235 lumens for a 90 minute continual output runtime.

Both currently cost $55 every.
